FAQ

1. Is DigiFT regulated?

Effective from 1 December 2023, DigiFT is the first regulated exchange for on-chain real-world assets (RWA) having obtained recognition as a Recognised Market Operator (RMO) and a Capital Markets Services (CMS) license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

2. Do I need to be residing in Singapore to open an account?

You do not need to be residing in Singapore to start an account with us.

You must be at least 18 years old to open an investor account.

4. What is a Security Token?

Security Token represents an entitlement to ownership of a financial asset of the issuer. We tokenize the Issuer's underlying assets and make them available to our investors for subscription and trading.

5. What happens if DigiFT ceases operations?

Security Tokens that you hold will be regarded as having been delisted (i.e. the Security Tokens in your Wallet may be burnt or otherwise invalidated with effect from the delisting date) and would be subject to a token buy-back offer from the Issuer of the respective Security Token.

You will deal directly with the Issuer in respect of such a buy-back, and you will be entitled to receive a corresponding amount of Utility Token/Stablecoins in your Wallet equivalent to a price that is fair and reasonable as may be determined by the Issuer in good faith or such other forms of compensation as may have been specified in the relevant subscription documentation or otherwise by the Issuer (including but not limited to definitive certificates of the underlying assets).

In such an event, you will be entitled to redeem the Utility Token you have received from the Issuer and from the Exchange for USD or SGD in accordance with the face value of the Utility Token.

DigiFT will inform all participants and issuers of the platform cessation by email or such other mode of communication deemed appropriate by DigiFT, and provide participants and issuers with the information on buy-back of Security Token or such other forms of compensation.

6. What happens if the Issuer defaults?

In the event that an Issuer has defaulted, DigiFT will delist or suspend the trading of the Security Token issued by the defaulted issuer.

DigiFT may but is not obligated to assist the Security Token holder in the recovery action to recover damages through legal action against the Issuer or other means.
